Your Role at Baxter

Directly and through subordinates the Materials Supervisor is responsible for all purchasing activities related to plant operations which includes procurement of all direct and indirect materials capital equipment and services. Develop implement and execute materials management processes in support of supply chain and business objectives.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Develop and Implement Procurement Strategies: Create strategies that align with the companys objectives to optimize purchasing processes and reduce costs.

  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with agreements. Responsible for supporting and monitoring SNCs (Supplier Notice of Change) to ensure the required changes are effectively implemented.

  • Procurement Process Oversight: Manage the entire procurement process from purchase requests to the final receipt of goods ensuring timely delivery and quality control.

  • Budget Management: Monitor and manage the procurement budget preparing cost analyses and reports to track spending and identify savings opportunities and MIP (Margin Improvement Projects).

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to understand their supply needs and coordinate procurement activities accordingly.

  • Inventory Oversight: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of direct and indirect materials.

  • Team Management: Supervise tool crib and purchasing operations including hiring training and scheduling employees to optimize operations.

  • Data Management: Utilize inventory management software to track stock levels deliveries and shipments ensuring accurate record-keeping.

What Youll Bring

  • Remain in a stationary position for 50% or more of the time.

  • Constantly operate a computer and other office equipment.

  • Ability to think strategically and globally.

  • Excellent project management facilitation interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Financial acumen; high degree of ethics.

  • Ability to build strategic supplier relationships.

  • Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members

  • Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawing.

  • Bachelors desirable. Prefer 5 years overall business and/or purchasing and materials management experience.

At Baxter we are committed to equitable pay for all employees and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $76000 - $104500 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location skills and expertise experience and other relevant factors.
