NHS Golden Jubilee is a unique national institution within NHS Scotland operated by its own NHS Board. Located in Clydebank the Golden Jubilee campus is a hub of excellence that integrates healthcare research education and hospitality to deliver a wide range of services.
Since our establishment we have become a cornerstone for innovation and collaboration in Scotlands healthcare system offering outstanding care and services to patients across the country.
As a non-executive member of the Board you willbe expected to play a central role inensuring the efficient effective and accountable governance of the organisation including participation in its governance committees. You will be offered the training you need to make a strong contribution.
You must also be able to demonstrate the following essential criteria:
Ability to offer constructive challenge
Ability to demonstrate both NHS Scotlands shared values and NHS Golden Jubilees own organisational values and behaviours
Analysis and decision-making skills
Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders including the Board and Executive Team
There is also a desirable criterion which would be beneficial to the Board but is not essential:
Areas of specific interest are: Digital inc. Cyber Security Transformation and Academia
14352 (non-pensionable) per annum for a time commitment of one day per week (52 days per year). Reasonable travel and subsidence expenses incurred will be reimbursed. The time commitment will vary week to week but on average the role will take up around 8 hours per week and you must be able to make a firm commitment to spend 52 days of the year on Board business. This time will be a mix of daytime Board meetings committee meetings reading documents and attending stakeholder events. You should also demonstrate an adequate degree of flexibility to attend at a greater frequency subject to the Boards ongoing business needs. There may be the opportunity for you to commit more time to the role but the Chair would discuss this with you. Should you be required to contribute more than the average 8 hours per week on a regular basis then at the discretion of the Board Chair you may receive additional remuneration.
LOCATION
Meetings for the NHS Golden Jubilee Board will normally be held in the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Clydebank although they may on occasion be held elsewhere around Scotland. In recent times meetings have been held virtually. Going forward the expectation is that there will be a blend of virtual and physical meetings; with Board meetings and Development sessions generally being held in person and Committee meetings being held virtually.

INTERVIEWS
Interviews will be held on 22 and 23 July and will be conducted in person at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Clydebank.
It is unlikely that we will be able to offer an alternative interview date.
