What youll be doing:
- Plan deliver and monitor biodiversity management across Anglian Water land including Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) and other conservation areas.
- Procure and manage external consultants contractors and NGOs to implement habitat and species management interventions.
- Conduct and coordinate species and habitat surveys to establish baselines and track biodiversity improvements.
- Provide expert advice to internal teams on wildlife legislation and best practice land management.
- Support compliance with environmental regulations by maintaining records conducting audits and responding to breaches.
- Collaborate with operational teams Biodiversity Champions and other stakeholders to embed biodiversity into everyday practices.
- Maintain and update biodiversity data GIS records and reporting tools to support business performance and regulatory commitments.
- Contribute to Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) reporting and the delivery of Anglian Waters Biodiversity Strategy.
- Develop internal communications and training materials to raise awareness and promote biodiversity initiatives.
- Represent Anglian Water in external partnerships forums and award submissions to showcase our environmental leadership.
What does it take to be successful
- A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Full UK Driving licence due to travel within the role
- Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and habitat management.
- Experience in species and habitat surveys.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A passion for nature and a drive to make a difference.
