- Continuation dependent upon satisfactory performance program needs and availability of funding
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the research and evaluation efforts for Hawaii Substance Use Professional Development (SUPD) a statewide substance use workforce development initiative as directed by the Principle Investigator or Co-Investigators.
- Conduct focus groups and interviews with stakeholders in the community.
- Tabulate and present basic findings related to needs assessment data.
- Support the Principle Investigator or Co-Investigators in program evaluation data collection related to workforce trainings.
- Provide ongoing program support for SUPD trainings research and meeting planning.
- Provide communications support and workforce training support as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Classified degree-seeking student in a Masters or PhD program inSocial Work Public Health Education or related field under UHM Graduate Division;
- Be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above
- Maintain 6 credits per semester with the exception of those who have reached 800 (dissertation) or 700F (thesis)
- Demonstrate proficiency in English (For international students: TOEFL scores of 600/100 (paper/Internet) or above with subtest scores of 25 for listening and 25 for speaking or IELTS score of 7.0 or above for the overall band test results)
- Bachelors degree in social work public health or related field
- Strong interest in developing report formats and design elements
- Strong experience with report creation including graphics and layout
- Strong oral writing and interpersonal skills
- Experience with data programming and analysis (such as Excel SPSS STATA R etc.)
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in social work or related field
- Familiarity with substance use prevention treatment and recovery issues
- Ability to generate project reports
