Job Description

Purpose

  • Assisting in the administration of the Districts financial functions
  • Conveying recording and updating fiscal information
  • Ensuring that revenues are generated expenses are within budget limits and fiscal practices are followed
  • Providing instructions and/or accounting support to other personnel in accordance with established financial practices

Essential functions

  • Assists external auditors in providing requested information (e.g. bank documents financial reports contracts etc.)
  • Attends in-service trainings staff meetings workshops etc. as requested
  • Maintains various fiscal information files and records and monitors fund balances of assigned programs and related financial activity (e.g. open purchase orders student activity accounts etc.)
  • Orients personnel regarding various procedures and program requirements
  • Processing fixed asset recording asset depreciation equipment transfers and tracking expenditures related to capital expenses etc.
  • Prepares a wide variety of financial information and reports (e.g. monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports requested query reports various schedules correspondence expense reports tuition tax credits donation fund etc.)
  • Processes various fiscal information (e.g. purchase order requests check requests payment vouchers etc.)
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions and by internal self-auditing
  • Processes invoices e.g. vendor invoices phone bills utility bills etc.
  • Reconciles contract and/or account balances
  • Researches discrepancies of financial information and/or documentation e.g. purchase orders invoices etc.

  • Maintains records of financial transactions by posting and verifying
  • Interpret and apply accounting policies rules and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Assists other personnel as may be required and performs other related duties as assigned

Associates degree in Accounting preferred or the equivalent combination of experience and education.

Requirements:

  • Pre-employment Proficiency Test
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
  • Ability to read write and communicate clearly in English

This is a 12-month position.
