Job Description:

Your new role

Head of Indirect Strategic Sourcing

London Ludgate with occasional travel

Permanent

This role will manage the UK Strategic Sourcing Team leading defining and delivering a clear procurement strategy it is aligned with the groups strategic business objectives and Group procurement functional plan. You will be responsible for the spend associated with all corporate functions to ensure that an appropriate supply base is selected and managed to meet their needs.

  • Lead strategic sourcing against defined KPIs aligned with the Groups strategic business objectives

  • Maintain legal compliance across the portfolio and manage contacts with audit and finance

  • Develop and manage deeper long-term relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external to facilitate improvements for all procurement services

  • Deliver all financial commitments for group procurement against pre-determined targets of revenue profit and cost

  • Ensure procurement policy and processes are implemented and adhered to in the team including monitoring of key procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with total business governance

  • Accountable for leading group category strategies service requirements whilst achieving best practice in procurement and supplier management.

  • Effective deployment of project management within procurement to interface with internal customers

  • Agree and monitor service level agreements with internal stakeholders

  • Lead or support procurement integration activities for company acquisitions

  • Support and mentor global operations teams to foster an integrated end to end supply chain management function

  • Standardise and simplify shared processes

  • Participate in the Group Procurement Leadership Team leading activities laid out in the annual plan

  • Lead direct and manage a multi-disciplinary global team of professional staff responsible for Group Procurement

  • Establish and maintain governance structures and processes to deliver strategies

About you

  • Qualified to degree level ideally with CIPS accreditation.

  • Skilled strategic Procurement leader with previous experience of managing responsible procurement processes as part of customer proposals

  • Significant senior purchasing experience with a proven track record of delivery against targets and costs

  • Evidence of successfully managing a functional budget in a similar environment (Procurement/Purchasing/Supply Chain)

  • Proven record of managing overhead costs during all business cycles with experience in preparing and managing budgets

  • Significant category management and strategic sourcing experience

  • Strong experience of supplier relationship management

  • Experience in negotiating commercial contracts and strong negotiation skills

  • Experience of working in a global matrixed centrally co-ordinated procurement operating model
