General ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Specialized Transportation Director the Router/Dispatcher will perform school bus dispatching and scheduling activities employing proven fleet and staff management techniques for fleet of approximately 70 buses and vans serving Southwest Washington.
Salary:The full annual salary range for this position is $66747.20 - $81203.20. Offers start at the entry level of the range.

Essential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential Functions:- Develop routes and schedule bus drivers and buses for maximum safety effectiveness and efficiency utilizing Traversa Routing Program.
- Coordinate all student transportation dispatch activities for Specialized Transportation.
- Manage student transportation requests.
- Provide support services for parents students and schools through verbal and written communications.
- Coordinate resolution of on bus-problems parent concerns and customer requests.
- Establish and maintain good public relations designed to promote the understanding and support for specialized transportation.
- Ensure adherence to ESD policies and procedures as well as state and federal laws and regulations relating to transportation.
- Read interpret and update street maps utilizing modern computer applications.
- Assess and implement new technology to create efficient routes monitor vehicles resolve issues and maintain accurate data in routing systems.
- Develop strong working relationships with drivers and office staff.
Other Functions:- Provide assistance at bus accident scenes as needed; write accident reports and other safety related issues.
- Serve as School Bus Driver as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience using word processing data bases and logistics software.
- Hold or ability to obtain a valid OSPI School Bus Driver authorization and Washington State class B or class C Commercial Drivers License with passenger and school bus endorsements within two years of date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:- Experience in pupil transportation state laws and regulations.
- Experience in special needs student transportation operation procedures.
- Pupil Transportation Management Training Program completion.
- Three years of experience with student transportation routing and dispatching.
- Experience solving complex routing situations.
