Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a highly experienced Senior Solution Architect to lead the design and development of scalable secure and high-performance payment systems. This strategic role involves defining technical roadmaps guiding development teams and ensuring adoption of best practices across complex payment processing solutions. You will work across multiple teams and technologies to deliver innovative payment solutions aligned with industry standards regulatory requirements and client needs supporting our organizations commitment to driving digital transformation and operational excellence.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
- Extensive hands-on expertise in and TypeScript for building scalable backend solutions
- Strong knowledge and application of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles in modeling payment business domains
- Practical experience with microservices architecture including designing deploying and maintaining microservices based on cloud or on-premise platforms
- Familiarity with Spring Boot and Java to facilitate cross-technology integrations and collaboration
- Deep understanding of RESTful API design messaging queues and integration with third-party payment gateways
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker Kubernetes) and cloud deployment practices
- Strong grasp of payment domain processes including settlement fraud prevention and compliance (e.g. PCI DSS)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Awareness of industry trends such as Open Banking PSD2 and emerging payment technologies
- Familiarity with security best practices specific to payment solutions and data privacy
Overall Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable reliable and maintainable payment solutions utilizing TypeScript and microservices architecture
- Apply Domain-Driven Design to model complex payment workflows and business logic effectively
- Collaborate with product managers enterprise architects and cross-functional teams to develop detailed technical roadmaps and deliverables
- Mentor development teams providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to best practices security standards and high code quality
- Drive code reviews performance improvements and security enhancements across payment applications
- Lead efforts on integration of third-party payment gateways and enhance system customization capabilities
- Stay updated on industry advancements and innovations in the payment domain promoting continuous improvement
- Contribute to defining system architecture technical standards and process improvements aligned with business goals
- Document solution designs architecture decisions and technical specifications to support operational excellence and compliance

Programming Languages:
- Essential: TypeScript
- Preferred: Java JavaScript other programming languages supporting microservices
Databases & Data Management:
- Essential: Relational databases such as MySQL Oracle or SQL Server
- Preferred: NoSQL databases and data storage optimization techniques
Frameworks & Libraries:
- Essential: Spring Boot microservices frameworks communication protocols (REST gRPC)
- Preferred: Payment-related SDKs API gateways security libraries (OAuth2 JWT)
Development & Deployment Tools:
- Essential: Docker Kubernetes Git CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or equivalent)

Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years in software development and solution architecture with significant experience in payment systems
- Proven experience leading end-to-end payment solution design and development in enterprise or financial service environments
- Demonstrated expertise in Domain-Driven Design and microservices architecture
- Extensive experience with and TypeScript in production environments
- Strong understanding of payment industry standards security and regulatory compliance
- Experience leading technical teams and managing complex projects in Agile environments
- Industry experience in banking payments or fintech fields is highly desirable
Day-to-Day Activities
- Define system architecture and technical design for payment processing solutions
- Lead development efforts coding reviewing and guiding team members on best practices
- Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
- Oversee integration with third-party APIs payment gateways and external systems
- Conduct architecture reviews technical assessments and code quality audits
- Promote innovative approaches and continuous improvement initiatives
- Document system architecture standards and technical decisions
- Engage in technical discussions mentor team members and support operational stability
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Solution Architect Certified Payment Security Professional) are advantageous
- Proven successful delivery of complex payment systems or financial applications
