Job Description

AECOM is seeking to hire a Senior Project Manager - Water/Wastewater for our growing Austin TX office. The qualified applicant will have experience in water/wastewater engineering design and construction management principles and will be familiar with the design construction and operation of municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages one or more Water/Wastewater treatment plant pump station and conveyance project(s).
  • Works mostly independently but receives basic instruction on specific assignments objectives complex features and possible solutions.
  • Manages all aspects of projects from start to close out including development of scope schedule budget and proposals deliverables and quality adherence.
  • Direct and manage the implementation of the project including coordination with project stakeholders consultants contractors and other external and internal parties to achieve project milestones.
  • Mentor junior staff members to support them in their delivery on the project and in their professional development.
  • Prepare technical memoranda planning studies and final design calculations plans and specifications;
  • Manage project deliverable budgets schedules. Ensure compliance with the companys Quality Assurance policies and procedures. 
  • Oversee and manage construction phases of projects to ensure works are completed in accordance with the contract documents on time and budget;
  • Ensure project work is undertaken in accordance with corporate health and safety policies and quality management systems;
  • Prepare proposals and qualification documents in the interest of obtaining new assignments.
  • Maintain client relationships; assist in identification and pursuit of business development opportunities.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS 6 years of relevant Project Management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Professional Engineering License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in design of water and wastewater facilities and infrastructure.
  • Masters degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience with Central Texas-area clients.
  • Experience working with clients in both the public and private sectors
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • Flexible can adapt to shifting priorities/work schedules.
