All bargaining unit and exempt hires to ODOT must serve a 1-year probationary period.
All exempt promotions are required to serve a 6-month probationary period.
This position is Overtime Exempt per FLSA standards.
This position has been designated as a Career Professional position per the Ohio Revised Code 5501.20.
All candidates applying for employment opportunities should be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship for an employment visa is not currently available for positions with the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The hourly rate of pay is $37.53 - $53.58 and may be negotiated.

Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as group or project leader providing work direction & training to engineering technicians &/or lower-level engineers or 12 mos. exp. in conducting engineering related research (i.e. conducting engineering related research only applies to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites must possess valid drivers license.
-Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 2 85642; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites must possess valid drivers license.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required but not for the mandated registration.
