About the Work Unit:
This unit designs constructs maintains and operates the Region 1 transportation system in a manner which helps preserve the environmental resources present within our Region. The Region 1 unit works with CDOT headquarters to provide program management information from the Region in real time to support statewide delivery initiatives.
About the Position:
This position Region 1 Senior Water Pollution Control Manager is a lead for active construction stormwater inspection compliance for CDOT Region 1.
Tasks include performing the MS4 Permit required stormwater inspections on active construction and post-construction sites.
Clarifying stormwater management plans specifications and Colorado Discharge Permit System (CDPS) permit regulations to contractor and project staff.
Tracking and reporting training and explaining the Construction Sites program of CDOTs MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer) permit of which Region 1 has the largest program most complex projects and highest project volume.
Act as an independent water quality resource pacesetter who will be responsible for overseeing a high volume of various level complexity projects throughout active construction and into the post-construction phase.
The majority of work is in-field driving to job sites walking on uneven surfaces in a variety of weather conditions (heat cold wet and windy). This position requires communication with CDOT maintenance staff construction engineers and contractors about observations and offering solutions. The rest of the time is creating reports reviewing findings and reviewing documentation with tight deadlines.

Other duties as assigned to support the Region Environmental Unit in environmental analysis environmental review environmental clearance environmental mitigation and regulatory compliance.
