The Opportunity

New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is committed to transforming lives and communities. The College is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Instructor Welding Engineering Technology. Position Type: Regular

Location: Moncton

Salary Range: $2454.00 to $3776.00 bi-weekly

What youll do

Responsibilities

As part of the School of Engineering Technologies and reporting to the Academic Chair the Instructor is responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students colleagues community partners and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas may include but are not limited to:

  • Materials Science

  • Industrial Welding Applications

  • Metalworking Principles and Practice

  • Welding Principles

  • Canadian Codes and Specifications

  • Weld Quality Fundamentals

  • Other related subjects as required

The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.

What youll need

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Welding Technology.

  • The successful candidate must possess a CSA W 178.2 - Level 1 or Level 2 Welding Inspector Certificate.

  • Demonstrated experience working in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control.

  • Preference given to candidates with a valid Red Seal in the trades of Steel Fabrication Welder/Fitter or Welder and related and recent work experience at the Journeypersons level.

Professional Skills:

  • Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills analytical ability and innovative thinking.

  • Self-motivated service and results-oriented.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.

  • A desire for continuous learning and growth.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Assets:

  • Eligibility to be certified through NBSCETT.

  • Minimum of three years of related and recent work experience.

  • Experience working in a post-secondary environment.

Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response the minimum qualifications may be raised.
