Finance & Accounting - Finance & AccountingPrudential Financial Inc.s (PFI) Open Architecture Solutions (OAS) team is seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual to fill a newly created Transactions Finance Manger role that will be based in the U.S. and report to the OAS Director Controller. The Transactions Finance Manger will lead the OAS financial controllership implementation of reinsurance transactions and capital management initiatives for the Bermuda based affiliate reinsurance companies Gibraltar Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Gibraltar Re) and Lotus Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Lotus Re) including ensuring appropriate reporting on a U.S. GAAP Local Bermuda Statutory and Economic Balance Sheet basis. Bermudas reporting frameworks are principles based and will have similarities to U.S. GAAP Fair Value and other international frameworks. This position will also assist with other activities including accounting policy and coordination of external audit requirements.
This area is highly visible and involves partnering with Actuarial CIO ALM Investment Ops and several corporate areas (Controllers Tax). The role offers the candidate an excellent opportunity to develop and utilize their leadership skills plus will provide the opportunity to project manage and deliver presentations to senior leadership. This position is key to the further growth of Prudentials Bermuda business a key element of our strategic priority to grow in a capital-efficient manner.
The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:
Proactively partnering with various stakeholders to identify and resolve US GAAP and/or Bermuda Statutory accounting issues arising from new products and transactions.
Research resolution and documentation of accounting policies and/or issues (US GAAP and Bermuda Statutory). Focus will be on insurance accounting/product related issues especially with respect to new reinsurance transactions.
Work with the Accounting Policy team and OAS management on strategic initiatives including new products reinsurance transactions etc.
Manage the preparation review and analysis of reporting data in support of disclosures for inclusion in financial statements.
Work closely with Financial Services Organization (FSO) teams to ensure accurate manual entries into the Oracle ledger.
Present to OAS Controllers and Senor Finance Management on key accounting issues.
Interact with external auditors on accounting conclusions.
Support quarterly financial reporting requirements.
What youll need:
Bachelors degree with a major in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of5-8years of relevant work experience.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and/or Statutory accounting and reporting.
Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines under challenging time frames.
Strong collaborative communication and partnering skills.
Ability to work overtime during peak periods.
Ability to summarize complex business problems and detailed analysis with clarity and brevity
Strong analytical skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail.
Competent writer with advanced proficiency in MS Office suite.
Itd be a plus if you have:
CPA or equivalent highly preferred and advanced degree or designation.
Strong project and process management skills.
Superior conceptual thinking analytical research and problem-solving skills.
