Marsh is seeking candidates to join our Marsh McLennan (MMC) Controllership Team as Assistant Controller based in Greece.

We will count on you to:
Ensure that financial results for local legal entities are accurate. Oversee and be responsible for the preparation of all monthly quarterly and reporting activities in US Gaap performs and oversee Cyprus companys financial audits local tax matters support the transfer pricing document preparation in cooperation with tax consultant. Ensure that all reconciliations are completed in a timely fashion.
Prepare monthly US Gaap for the 3 entities based in Greece (Marsh Oliver Wyman and Guy Carpenter)
Responsible for the effective operational management of a team of 3 people. looking at capacity planning prioritization career development and staff well-being. Positive attitude inclusive working style and effective communication skills are essential.
The role will report to the Controller based in Greece and will require a strong connection with Warsaw & Witham team (HUBs centres) to ensure strong stakeholder engagement Hub relationship management review of processes and controls necessary to ensure smooth operations between the country and the hub.
Provide assistance local management / boards on local projects and regulatory and statutory / tax responsibilities.
Liaises with internal and external auditors and subject matter experts.
Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed and looking to establish strong efficient process and compliance to policies. A solid ability to document and evaluate processes systems and compliance is required including a mindset for continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with the Internal Control System SOX
What you need to have:
Bachelors degree in accounting finance or the equivalent is required.
Minimum 8 years of overall professional experience
Local tax legislation and MYDATA knowledge is a must
Understanding of Oracle Hyperion Essbase and Microsoft
Experience with insurance practice accounting and in Big 4 will be considered a plus;
Technical proficiency in US GAAP local requirements and legislation
Fluent in written and spoken English.
