Are you looking to take the first step on your career journey or seeking an exciting change in direction Leicestershire County Council has 2 apprenticeship posts in our Trading Standards team as a Level 1 Trading Standards Officer. The role involves undertaking the Level 6 Trading Standards Professional this time you will gain hands-on experience while working towards your professional qualification. We are keen to hear from individuals who are calm under pressure highly motivated and personable
About the Role
You will cover all areas of Trading Standards as part of your apprenticeship howeverone role will focus on tobacco and vapes enforcement with a particular focus on tackling illegal and underage sales of tobacco and vapes supporting businesses to achieve compliance and protecting consumers particularly children from harm.
The other role will focus on animal health and welfare and involves visiting farms and livestock gatherings providing advice to support the industry and protect the food chain. This at times can include investigating cases of suffering and farmed animal welfare.
No previous Trading Standards experience is required but you must be committed to undertaking the Level 6 Trading Standards Professional Apprenticeship and building a career within this vital service whilst working as part of a supportive and productive team.
About You

You will be required to undertake a short test by analysing a scenario and feeding back to the panel your findings and a short presentation on an area of Trading Standards work. Details of this will be sent to you via email if you are shortlisted.
