This posting is open to Permanent Teachers and Probationary Teachers currently employed by Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board.
Salary Range:
Paid based on the salary grid of the Collective Agreement with OECTA according to QECO rating and years of experience.

Qualifications :
- Certificate of Qualification from the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
- Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate or Intermediate/Senior
- Religious Education Part 1
- Additional Qualifications in Mathematics
- Minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience
- Experience teaching math in multiple grades
- Thorough knowledge of the new math curriculum

- SMHO (Mental Health in Action for Educators)

Notes: The successful candidate will:
- Work in grades 3 6 and 9 classrooms in priority schools.
- Work directly with students who require additional support as well as work with teachers to strengthen math teach knowledge and support consistent and intentional implementation o high-impact instructional practices and early intervention strategies.
- Ensure the successful implementation of the new math curriculum and effective instructional practices in mathematics for elementary and secondary.
- Provide training to elementary school teachers on the implementation of high impact strategies in mathematics.
- Support K-8 networks/families of targeted elementary and secondary schools when applicable.
- Support the implementation and informing the monitoring and evaluation of the board improvement plan for student achievement and wellbeing strategic priorities to improve students mathematics performance.
- Work with schools in the facilitation of parent engagement in their childrens math learning.
- Support the building of Catholic character and culture within school communities through the effective delivery of curriculum initiatives that integrate faith across the curriculum. He/she must be an effective oral and written communicator who has demonstrated the ability to collaborate as part of a team as it relates to the strategic priorities of the Board Student Achievement Plan (SAP).
- Demonstrate leadership in the inquiry model for professional development and the integration of technology and digital resources into all subject areas to support innovation. He/she will work as part of an integrated team supporting the work of the system in partnership with other central staff.
- Demonstrate knowledge of effective methodologies to extend the learning environment beyond the traditional boundaries of the classroom using web-based technologies.
- Experience with data and running records is an asset.
The successful candidate works out of priority schools in Kingston and will be expected to provide their own vehicle to travel to school sites. Travel expenses will be paid according to Article 25 of the current Collective Agreement.
