Jazz is looking for Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (Structures) with a passion for safety and customer service to join our award-winning team!

Purpose of Position:

To maintain the aircraft in an airworthy condition and carry out maintenance tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Under the direction of the Crew Chief or a licensed engineer carry out inspection(s) for repair of company aircraft. This will include learning and understanding troubleshooting aircraft defects and carry out corrective action as required.
  • Carry out maintenance duties on Jazz aircraft.
  • Report on issues affecting the serviceability of aircraft.
  • Ensure aircraft are maintained in accordance with Company and Transport Canada regulations.
  • Perform duties in accordance with our established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety the safety of co-workers and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineer program (Structures).
  • Must have received Transport Canada Accreditation.
  • Must hold a valid Canadian issued drivers license with no restrictions and/or conditions.
  • Candidates must hold or have the ability to obtain an Airport Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP).
  • Legally able to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen Permanent Resident or on a Valid Work Permit).
  • Ability to carry on normal business in English.

Opportunities:

  • Our Apprentice AMEs are given the opportunity to complete all the Transport Canada tasks required to obtain their AME License.
  • When positions are available AMEs are given the opportunity to transfer bases if desired.

Wages:

The positions in our Maintenance Department are unionized positions. Current pay scales are outlined in our collective agreement.

  • Pay scales are competitive and progress every 6 months to 1 year.
  • AMEs qualify for a Technical Premium which is paid on top of the base wage for every hour worked.
