Industrial Account Manager: Grainger - Remote

The Job:

The Industrial Account Manager is responsible for increasing the sales of Proto Stanley Craftsman Lenox and DEWALT brands marketed and sold through one of SBDs largest National Accounts partners in the Construction and Industrial channel. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of the Sales Cycle which includes identifying needs presenting solutions and then executing to deliver value to the customer. The Industrial Account Manager will be based in Colorado and have territory responsibility for Utah Wyoming Nebraska Minnesota North & South Dakota. The largest markets in this region being Colorado Utah & Minnesota travel 2 to 3 weeks out of the month.

Account Management

  • Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with key personnel within assigned accounts and mutual end user customers. Regular planning and communication required.

  • Local and overnight travel within territory to support distributor / customer needs and growth. Travel for National Distributor Meetings and Industry Trade Shows as needed.

  • Meet and Exceed POS Sales Goals for National Accounts and Top Line Sales Goals for strategic Independent Accounts where applicable.

  • Execute on NAM plans for new product introductions at National Accounts coupled with a plan to execute new product national promotional programming with independents as applicable.

  • Review business with customer on a monthly/quarterly basis to ensure growth targets being achieved.

  • Properly document in CRM all account and contact information call activity and conversion opportunity progression.

  • Take credit for value added activity by highlighting that activity to distributor / end user with the appropriate documentation.

  • Provide support to distributor partners and end-users on product training through educational and safety seminars.

  • Support Product Managers to determine appropriate promotion strategy and NPD launch.

  • Utilize national promos flyers resources and events regionally and develop same for Independent distribution as necessary.

Business Acumen & Partnership

  • Partner with the Product NAM Team to coordinate and implement targeted Government / National Account/ Core Sales initiatives.

  • Collaborate frequently with Corporate NAM Teams to understand and execute on opportunities and initiatives.

  • Effectively manage discretionary budgets; Marketing Promotional and T&E.

  • Develop product knowledge / category expertise to make quality recommendations that successfully solve unmet needs and increase productivity with proper solutions to end users.

  • Collaborate on customer opportunities with Lenox Band Storage Solutions and other SB&D Business Units and communicate accordingly.

  • Celebrate successes and best practices through the CRM and Workplace.

The Person:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Management Marketing or related fields.

  • 3 - 5 years experience in Sales or Marketing focused in the Industrial and Construction channels.

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications; Excel Power Point Word Outlook.

  • Strong ability to be flexible and adapt to change in business practices market changes etc.

  • Strong interpersonal negotiation verbal and written communication skills; organization and multitasking skills a must.

  • Team player with solid track record of success ability to drive sales growth.

  • Demonstrated time management skills ability to set priorities meet deadlines etc.

  • Valid Drivers License & clean driving record.

  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally at multiple levels within the business unit (e.g. Marketing Product Management Field Engineering etc).

  • Willingness to travel (75% local and overnight).
