Manchester University seeks a dynamic Residence Hall Director to join our Residential Life team and help foster a campus environment that values the infinite worth of every individual. This live-in full-time position will provide you with the opportunity to engage directly with students and support their personal and academic growth contributing to the mission of graduating individuals of ability and conviction.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision: Manage 1-2 residence halls supervising 7-14 Resident Assistants (RAs) and providing guidance and support for their professional development.
Student Support: Serve as a Success Advisor providing holistic support to students addressing challenges and connecting them with campus resources.
Programming: Oversee hall programming manage the hall budget and lead 2-4 campus-wide events hosted by Residential Life.
On-Call Duty: Participate in an on-call duty rotation providing emergency support and responding to student needs including evenings and weekends.
Engagement: Conduct regular rounds in the building to ensure safety meet with students to discuss concerns and maintain a positive living environment.
Collaboration: Work with Residential Life Student Life and other campus offices contributing to the coordination of RA training hall openings/closings and housing placements.
Conduct: Participate in the restorative justice process as a hearing officer and assist with the student conduct process.
Qualifications:
A commitment to creating an inclusive environment that respects the worth of every individual and supports student growth.
Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred.
2-3 years of experience in residential life or student leadership preferred.
Strong organizational skills leadership ability and a passion for student development.
Work Schedule:
This is a 12-month full-time live-in position with flexibility in working evenings and weekends as required.
