The School
The School of English Drama and Creative Studies is a vibrant and thriving school situated within the College of Arts and Law. It hosts a community of academics and students researching and learning together in areas including Linguistics Media and Communication Film Studies English Literature Creative Writing and Drama and Theatre Arts. Many of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes combine academic scholarship with creative practice and offer students opportunities to learn from industry experts and partners in the Creative of the Schools strengths includes the study of Shakespeare both on the Edgbaston Campus and at the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon. EDACS encourages inter-disciplinarity and intellectual collaboration both in teaching and research.

Role Summary
As a full-time Teaching Fellow in the Department of English Literature the post holder will be expected to undertake up to 14 hours of timetabled teaching per week at undergraduate and postgraduate post holder will also undertake personal tutoring and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate taught post will include organisation management and leadership successful candidate will have considerable relevant teaching and assessment experience in the fields of Medieval English Literature and be committed to providing an excellent student learning experience.
Teaching may include modules such as Earliest English; Meeting Medieval Manuscripts; Figure of the Witch:Witch Writings c; Investigate & Interpret: The Decameron; Digital Heritage & the Medieval Past among others.
The post is fixed-term for one year from 1st September 2025 until 31st August 2026 due to a period of funded leave.
