Job Description

Minimum Associates degree or equivalent required. ABA degree in social work psychology or related field is preferred. Holds required state department of education credentials (Minimum Ohio Educational Aide Permit).

Qualifications: Program leadership skills verified by training and/or work experience. Ability to develop and implement program improvements based on evaluated data and research-based best practices.

  • Acts in accordance with the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations throughout the service centers service area.
  • Displays flexibility reliability self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.
  • Documents/maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment.
  • Effective communication problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Embodies high ethical standards/integrity. Accepts responsibility for personal decisions/conduct.

Note: Employees must obtain training and maintain skills to fulfill compliance requirements applicable to the position as required by board policy and state/federal law.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provides behavioral support services to students to assist in their motivation engagement participation and achievement.
  • Works with educational teams to facilitate student success in educational environments.
  • Reinforces appropriate skills with students.
  • Uses strategies and techniques to deescalate behaviors.
  • Develops a coherent strategy to accomplish concurrent responsibilities within required periods.
  • Advocates for students. Facilitates inclusive educational opportunities for all students.
  • Collaboratively resolves problems that impede student learning. Helps identify teaching techniques interventions and aligned resources best suited for each student.
  • Provides one-on-one student supports within the educational environment. Initiates contact and collaborates with community resources to address student concerns.
  • Encourages students to remain in school engaged and motivated.
  • Works with staff to monitor intervention efficacy. Recommends modifications as needed.
  • Helps students make appropriate choices and improve personal skills.
  • Communicates with school district and other key agency personnel as necessary to ensure student success.
  1. Exemplifies professionalism to enhance NwOESC and member district public images.
  • Fosters goodwill and encourages relationships that enhance public support for education.
  • Develops mutually respectful relationships with co-workers. Functions as part of a cohesive team.
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record. Provides prompt notice of delays or absences.
  • Maintains a professional appearance. Wears work attire appropriate for the position.
  • Respects privacy. Resolutely maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Diligently attends to job details. Pursues quality work results. Performs all aspects of the job.

CONTRACT: Per the 2025-26 school calendar and beyond.

DEADLINE: June 13 2025 or Until Filled

SALARY: Per the adopted salary schedule based on training and experience
