Project Manager - National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI)

The Project Managers role is to manage day-to-day operations assign/delegate workloads lead internal meetings and develop track and review deliverables.

Responsibilities:

Manages day to day operations

Leads and conducts internal meetings including WG Follow-ups NCCI Check-in Internal Correspondence meetings and other internal coordination meetings. Goals include:

  • Delegates tasks to staff for effective completion of assignments when appropriate
  • Ensures procedures are being followed
  • Monitors status of agenda development
  • Correspondence Templates are being utilized properly
  • Ticket Summary documents are being filled in properly

Monitors progression of correspondence to ensure internal deadlines are met

  • Ensuring consensus is reached on edit decisions
  • Capturing response suggestions for writer (if needed)
  • Ensuring contractor action items are assigned and accepted
  • Summarizing the discussion concisely

Produce monthly quarterly and annual reports coordinate input from all necessary staff

Ensure deliverables are submitted timely extensions requested and approved when necessary

Supports Medical Directors in getting technical information

Assure high accuracy rate for quality of work by checking and revising work produced by employees

Answer questions produce reports or information for CMS COR or program manager as requested

Oversee responses to Medicaid/Medicare correspondence production of edit proposals reconciliation of edit databases review and comment process

Coordinate review of FAQs and other posted documents for updating

Manages process improvement with the Deputy Project Managers assistance

Provides coding support as needed

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelors degree in business health care administration or related field
  • At least seven (7)years of related work experience required. Three (3) years of Management experience are required.
  • Experience with Federal and/or State clients is highly preferred
  • Strong client management skills
  • Proven ability with operational analyses processes and performance indicators
  • Excellent organizational written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced deadline-oriented work environment
  • Ability to work as a team member as well as independently

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
  • Corrected vision within the normal range.
  • Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing may be provided if needed.
  • Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an online computer terminal and other standard office equipment including a financial calculator personal computer and telephone.
  • Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff accomplish tasks etc.
