Job Description
Introduction: Are you passionate about animal care and looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to a veterinary team We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Surgical Assistant to join our fast-paced compassionate clinic. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and surgical staff during surgical procedures including prepping animals handling surgical instruments and monitoring vital signs.
- Ensure the surgical area is properly sterilized and organized.
- Prepare patients for surgery including anesthetic induction positioning and monitoring during recovery.
- Provide post-operative care to animals and assist with discharge instructions for owners.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Help manage surgical supplies and equipment ensuring they are sterilized and well-stocked.
- Provide compassionate care to patients before during and after surgeries.
- Communicate effectively with clients and other veterinary staff members.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a veterinary practice with specific experience in surgical assistance preferred.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary surgical procedures and protocols.
- Certification in veterinary technology or assistant training is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate patient and calm when handling animals and clients.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
