QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must hold a Masters degree in Educational Leadership Administration or a related field. They must possess or be eligible for a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision. A minimum of three years of successful teaching experience is required preferably at the middle school level. Strong leadership organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to use data to drive instructional decisions and improve student outcomes. Proficiency in managing school operations and understanding educational laws policies and regulations is also required.
DESCRIPTION
The Middle School Assistant Principal supports the Principal in the administration and supervision of the school. This role involves overseeing daily school operations managing staff and ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. The Assistant Principal assists in implementing instructional programs fostering a positive school culture and addressing student behavior and discipline issues. This position requires collaboration with teachers parents and the community to support student achievement and school improvement initiatives.
GENERAL DUTIES (May not include all duties performed)
SUPERVISION
The Middle School Assistant Principal reports directly to the Principal. This position involves supervising teachers support staff and students. The Assistant Principal works collaboratively with other school administrators district personnel and community stakeholders.
WORK CONDITIONS
The Middle School Assistant Principal works in a typical school environment which includes classrooms offices and outdoor areas. The role requires frequent standing walking and occasional lifting of materials and equipment. The Assistant Principal must be available for school events meetings and activities outside of regular school hours. The position involves working in a dynamic and sometimes high-pressure environment requiring strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
