As part of Cefetra Group Cefetra Limited is one of the major traders of grains and raw animal feed materials in the UK and Ireland. The job
As a commercial trainee you will support the Import Trading Desk taking responsibility for improving its commercial activities. After training your main task will be contacting customers regularly to offer prices with the aim of generating new business. Reporting directly to the Trading Managers you will receive on-the-job training in trading global agricultural commodities. Over time you will progress to take on more commercial and trading related responsibilities including helping to shape the company strategy as well as owning the profit and loss of your own book.
Role & Responsibilities key outputs:
Build strong commercial relationships with external customers to generate sales
Monitoring specific trading spreads and strategies tracking past performance and recording Profit & Loss
Preparing tailor made pricing communication to be sent to customers
Acting as point of contact on the trading desk for calls or any correspondences from external customers and suppliers
Working closely with traders to develop commercial understanding of their markets and how they are traded
You are
Most important is that you can be critical and precise but also pragmatic when needed. To be successful within Cefetra it is important to have a self-starter mentality be open minded and curious. In addition you can identify with the following requirements:
Graduate degree in Maths / Economics / Agriculture / Business or a similar discipline
Genuine and demonstrable interest in markets and/or trading
Driven attitude for sales
Logical thinker with strong numeracy skills and a results-oriented focus
Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
