Role Summary:

The Datacenter Engineer is responsible for the planning engineering implementation administration and support Backup and Recovery and disaster recovery infrastructure for Gesa Credit Union. In addition they will ensure all systems are sufficient functioning properly secure maintained and support the mission and goals of the credit union. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the installation of service packs patches updates and upgrades; working with vendors departments or end users in configuring software to meet the various requirements.

What You Will Be Doing:

  1. Actively participate in the design and architectural decisions for backup recovery and storage options in a cloud and on-prem environment.
  2. Design implement and manage storage and backup solutions for both cloud and on-prem environments.
  3. Work with teams to implement system changes: Firmware/Hardware compatibility bundles Latest support Hypervisor versions understanding of Storage Solutions and Cloud Storage Solutions.
  4. Ensure all hardware and software components comply with security guidelines.
  5. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of storage and backup solutions with other infrastructure components.
  6. Experience with and understanding of On-Prem Storage Arrays hyper-converged VSAN IP storage or similar product offerings and cloud storage solutions to offload on-prem storage footprint.
  7. Responsible for designing maintaining and implementing backup system(s).
  8. Ensure optimal performance by monitoring storage health and maintaining data fragmentation.
  9. Perform routine maintenance as required and ensure data replication is successful.
  10. Ensure upgrades updates and patches are planned tested and completed maintaining compliance with vendor requirements standards and control procedures.
  11. Anticipate growth and future capacity requirements and make recommendations to increase capacity as required.
  12. Help develop test and refine storage and backup strategies to ensure alignment with the organizations Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) requirements.
  13. Assist with coordination of testing of the DR/BCP plan as needed.
  14. Assists remote branches with server hardware replacements and configuration.
  15. Participate in multiple projects simultaneously developing milestones and deadlines in coordination with the broader company goals.
  16. Participate in vetting new storage solutions and providing feedback to vendors.

About You:

  1. Expertise in design implementation and management of compute virtualization technologies VMWare AWS GCP and/or Azure.
  2. Expertise in the design and implantation of a virtual data center in AWS GCP or Azure including technologies supporting Backup/Restore data protection Networks VPCs Security DNS VPN Storage Persistent storage technologies Transport and Data structures
  3. Enterprise-class experience designing and implementing highly available infrastructure solutions: VMWare DELL/EMC Zerto Pure NetApp.
  4. In-depth knowledge of Virtualized cloud products: VMWare Cloud Storage Solutions AWS File Gateway AWS Backup AWS CloudWatch
  5. Experience and knowledge of multiple hypervisors and virtualization technologies: VMWare Hyper-V
  6. Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Windows O/Ss networking TCP/IP DHCP WINS DNS VmWare and Microsoft Active Directory including group policies and Exchange strongly desired.
  7. Knowledge of multiple cloud technologies. (Azure AWS GCP)
  8. Experience with storage provisioning for VMware and/or other hypervisors
  9. Experience supporting environments providing high availability and disaster recovery
  10. Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
  11. Strong Analytical Technical writing and problem solving skills.
  12. Knowledge of the Financial Industry is desirable.
  13. Organizational skills and the ability to build/set schedules and adhere to project deadlines.
  14. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent listening skills and customer service attributes and the ability to work cohesively and successfully in a team environment.
  15. Experience with backup and recovery software such as Commvault Veeam NetBackup Rubrik or similar solutions.
  16. Strong knowledge of storage and backup technologies such as SAN NAS DAS tape libraries and cloud storage.

What You Will Need:

  1. VMware Certified Professional (Optional)
  2. CommVault (Optional)
  3. Bachelors degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school. Experience in a related field or equivalent of specialized courses training and/or directly related experience may be substituted.
  4. More than ten years of similar or related experience.
  5. Proficiency with standard office equipment Unix/Linux OS and Windows operating systems.
  6. Experience with data processing networks data communications mainframe and and data organization.
  7. Technical planning project management and supervisory experience desired.
  8. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  9. Ability to work and travel independently and to make presentations.
  10. Ability to solve problems and exercise sound judgment when performing duties.
  11. Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to changes in technology evolving and new technologies.
  12. Ability to organize prioritize and respond simultaneously to multiple tasks and requests.
  13. Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information both orally and in writing.
  14. Ability to analyze and report information and recommend achievable process improvements.
  15. Ability to work effectively with team members.
  16. Ability to initiate and coordinate work establishes relationships and negotiates with vendors for work or projects to be completed.
  17. Some travel is required to attend credit union training fulfill duties and for career development as approved.

Richland WA: $100717.03 - $151075.54

Spokane WA: $91774.86 - $137662.29

Tukwila WA: $108247.27 - $162370.91
