Description of Work

The Employment Specialist (HR Technician I)position is located at the Raleigh Regional Employment Office (RREO) in Raleigh. and is responsible for providing recruitment and pre-employment screening for prospective applicants for certified positions in Prisons and Community Supervision work locations within the assigned service area. This position is a certified DCI operator.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs background reviews and screening of Correctional Officer applicants in accordance with qualification guidelines and Criminal Justice Standards requirements
  • Ensures that applicant information is entered correctly in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) database
  • Works directly with Correctional Officer applicants ensuring that applicant rosters contain qualified candidates to contact for interviews
  • Generates reports in Integrated HR-Payroll System (formerly BEACON) DCIN NEOGOV Indicium Microsoft and other applications/software in the performance of duties

Note -
  • Position must attend and successfully complete DCI certification and recertification as necessary to meet certification requirements
  • This position requires work overtime and overnight travel

Associates degree typically in Human Resources from an appropriately accredited institution or relevant field and no years of experience required

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources
