The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

As part of the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer the Corporate Services (CS) team plays a critical role in supporting the entire organization. Comprised of Corporate Communications & Stakeholder Relations Corporate Policy Corporate Privacy & Information Sourcing and Vendor Performance Strategy & Business Transformation Social Impact & Environmental Sustainability and Enterprise Project Management Office CS is driven by customer-service and taking action to advise consult and support each business area throughout the LDB.
The CS team is comprised of approximately 70 staff. What brings CS together as a team is the ability to work together to support both the operational areas of the business and other corporate service areas (e.g. Corporate Operations Finance Human Resources Information Technology). The group has a strategic lens with a focus on ensuring the organization aligns and complies with corporate priorities policies legislation best practices and government mandate.
About this role:
The Enterprise Project Management Office department provides strategic leadership processes and tools for the development and support of project portfolio management; provides project best practices methodology and mentorship and Project Management resources for projects ranging in size from smaller projects to large Corporate Projects/Programs with large technological components across the organization. While most projects will have a significant technology component this is not always the case.
The scope of projects/programs can be related to various LDB lines of businesses including: corporate services retail services wholesale services for both Liquor and Cannabis. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing projects to successful implementation of business goals. At this level this will involve the application of knowledge techniques and structured processes both to implement projects as well as facilitating people through the change. The Senior Project Manager leads manages and directs the analysis planning development delivery and change management function for the lifecycle of a project. They lead the integration coordination and implementation of new and improved business solutions (both systems and business processes) into the existing environment ensuring that all new pieces integrate fully and efficiently. In addition this role will participate in developing and supporting the project management office functions.
Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to guide teams through projects manage competing priorities communicate in an effective way to foster consensus facilitate change to people processes and tools and drive delivery of assigned projects to ensure timeliness and quality within scope and budget.
The LDB is a dynamic environment with multiple programs implementing significant exciting changes to the business. As a Senior Project Manager you will gain experience leading a wide variety of projects across different areas of the business and technologies.

Position requirements:
Education and Experience:
Project Management Professional certification Prince2 certification or equivalent certification including degree or diploma in business administration commerce or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of recent related experience as a project manager*.
OR
An equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered i.e. 8 years of recent related experience as a project manager* with formal courses and/or certification in business administration commerce or a related field.
*Recent related experience as a project manager must have occurred in the last 10 years and must include the following:
