Our client is a tech company that simplifies buying construction materials in Nigeria through an online platform helping builders find quality supplies quickly and reliably. They are looking to hire a Deal Maker.
Responsibilities:
Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled professional who will be responsible for overseeing the procurement processes ensuring KPIs are consistently met and managing the sourcing of materials including registration in Direct Sources (e.g. quarries). The ideal
candidate will have substantial experience in construction procurement and a strong understanding of sourcing strategies vendor management cost optimization and maximizing profitability for the company.
Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs reduce risks and ensure quality standards in construction materials.
Leverage market insights and data to lead negotiations effectively aligning outcomes with the company s strategic objectives.
Close procurement deals with buyers offering competitive pricing and value- added services to drive adoption and usage of the marketplace.
2. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Management
Oversee and manage the procurement activities ensuring compliance with organizational standards and targets.
Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met by working closely with sourcing teams suppliers and vendors.
Provide regular updates to management regarding procurement activities and performance metrics.
Relationship Management
Register and onboard direct sources specifically quarries to ensure a steady and reliable supply of construction materials.
Conduct regular reviews of supplier performance addressing any issues or identifying opportunities for further collaboration.
Aggregation and Supply Chain Optimization
Aggregate demand from buyers to meet minimum order quantities for manufacturers and distributors enabling bulk discounts and cost savings.
Optimize the supply chain by identifying efficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction and value creation.
Intelligence and Communication
Analyse market trends and suppliers to continuously improve sourcing strategies and negotiate favourable terms pricing and agreements.
Monitor supplier performance and address any procurement issues or delays ensuring that timelines and quality standards are met.
6. Database Management
Manage and maintain a comprehensive database of suppliers including contact details pricing agreements and product offerings.
-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to determine product and service needs overseeing all procurement activities from pre-qualification to tender management.
Role Requirement
Minimum of 5 years experience in procurement with at least 3 years in overseeing procurement within the construction industry.
Proven track record in sourcing and managing suppliers particularly in construction- related sectors like quarries building materials and heavy machinery.
Strong experience in procurement operations vendor management and cost optimization.
Experience with tracking and reporting on KPIs related to procurement and sourcing activities.
In-depth knowledge of the construction supply chain including the sourcing of raw materials logistics and supply chain dynamics.
Bachelors degree in supply chain management Business Administration Engineering or a related field. Masters degree is a Plus
Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management are a plus
(CPSMCSCP CIPS etc.)
