Key Role/Responsibilities:
Be properly kitted with personal protective equipment PPE for assigned tasks
Test all structured first fix cabling on the project site for quality and performance
Request all project documentation including architectural drawings schematic drawings and bill of
quantities/materials (BOQ/BOM)
Interpreting understanding and executing proposal documents schematics and drawings.
Adhere strictly to all project documentation as submitted except otherwise officially advised via
a documented medium such as mail or an updated hard copy project document that is duly dated
and signed
Execute all interconnections and installations according to project documentation
Document and escalate all site conditions challenges and recommended solutions to the project manager and design engineer on time for the needed action
Installation programming commissioning and testing of a range of integrated audiovisual
equipment/systems including structured first fix cabling
Design an intuitive and aesthetically pleasing graphic user interface GUI for control systems
Troubleshoot carry out routine maintenance (SLA) and support calls of integrated
audiovisual equipment/systems.
Provide progress report on all installation and maintenance carried out
Develop and compile a range of post-install documentation to aid in the production of the O&M manual.
Accurate and timely completion of all work-related documentation including but not limited to
to test results commissioning information drawings and O&M information.
Always ensure the highest quality of workmanship.
Ensure timely accurate clear and concise reporting and documentation in line with the
directive on reporting.
Self-auditing own work.
Interfacing with allied trade members subcontractors and the project team onsite
Accurate and timely completion of all internal documentation as required in your
employment contract.
Participate in all assigned professional trainings and exams
Participate in developing and maintaining departmental standards in line with global best practice
Handle and maintain all supplied PPE and project installation tools with utmost care
Advise and request project installation tool replacement on time with documented explanation
Interact with staff to resolve basic help desk issues as well as internal technical issues
Assist in maintaining all corporate IT infrastructure
Always maintain strict adherence to WSE health and safety standards
Always maintain strict adherence to site health and safety HSE policies
Assist the store administrator in moving equipment as the need arises
Requirements
Demonstrable knowledge of the installation and commissioning of AV systems across a
range of technologies including but not limited to network audio video control lighting
security etc.
Demonstrable knowledge of current and prevalent standards and licensing requirements
that governs works within the Audio / Visual space.
A working knowledge of structured cabling systems as the foundation of a system that
supports an IP-based AV installation.
Experience in working with design drawings schematics and proposals for AV
installations.
Experience working with industry-leading manufacturers systems such as
Crestron Control4 Extron Lutron etc.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy while completing project documentation in all
its forms.
Excellent customer relations
Flexible approach to working location and times
Proven specific experience or training in the programming of AV control equipment
Proven specific experience or training in the installation of structured cabling system.
Proven specific experience or training in the installation of active networking equipment
such as routers switches and wireless APs.
Proven experience and/or industry-recognised training with other technologies in the
intelligent building space such as IP Security Intelligent Lighting HVAC and Energy
Management etc.
