Job Description

Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
Preparing specifications reports and related data tables.
Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
Preparing reviewing and approving drawings as required.
Under the direction of the Supervising Architect may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

  • Strong hands-on technical knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Document review and inter-disciplinary coordination
  • Develop or assist in the development of studies programs concepts preliminary and final plans and specifications for projects of varying type and scale
  • Prepare review and approve drawing specifications and other documentation as required. These will range from design presentations documents to technical documents for building permit tender and construction and technical reports
  • Ensure designs are developed in compliance with client program of requirements and in compliance with local codes standards and applicable regulations
  • Ensure designs are developed in accordance with AECOM processes design and quality standards
  • Lead project coordination with multi-disciplinary teams both internal to AECOM and external. Provides leadership by coordinating the work of others
  • Interface with clients authorities and other project participants as needed to achieve a successful project
  • Work with AECOM design offices across the country including participation in project teams and overall development of the design and technical quality of AECOM projects
  • Proactively identifies and advocates for improvements to existing processes and procedures. Adjusts to new processes or changing assignments and considers alternative approaches to complete work
  • Completes assigned work independently and receives general guidance and direction on new projects tasks and priorities

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this position candidates must meet the below requirement at a very minimum:

  • No less than a University Degree in Architecture Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Architect with the OAA.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience: Preference for those with over two years of experience as a Registered Architect with the OAA experience with Science & Technology laboratories and facilities is a definite asset.

Certifications: LEED certification and familiarity with AAA/AIBC/OAQ/AIA are highly regarded.

Skills: Proficiency in REVIT BIM MS Office Adobe Suite and strong communication abilities are essential.
