Job Summary:
The Project Director is responsible for overseeing and managing large-scale projects from initiation to completion ensuring alignment with strategic goals budget and timelines. This role involves leading cross-functional teams coordinating with stakeholders mitigating risks and ensuring successful project delivery while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
Strategy
Define project scope objectives and deliverables aligned with organizational goals.
Develop and implement project management frameworks methodologies and best practices.
Set clear project priorities and ensure resource allocation aligns with strategic needs.
2. Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary point of contact for executive leadership clients and key stakeholders.
Communicate project updates risks and progress effectively to internal and external parties.
Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project expectations.
3. Project Planning
Execution
Develop comprehensive project plans including timelines budgets and resource requirements.
Monitor project performance track milestones and adjust plans as needed to meet objectives.
Oversee project teams ensuring clear roles responsibilities and accountability.
4. Risk
Issue Management
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
Address project challenges proactively ensuring minimal impact on deliverables.
Establish contingency plans to handle unforeseen issues.
5. Financial
Resource Management
Manage project budgets ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
Optimize resource utilization balancing workloads across teams.
Provide regular financial reporting and forecasts to leadership.
6. Team Leadership
Development
Lead mentor and motivate project teams to drive high performance.
Foster a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement.
Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to team members.
7. Compliance
Quality Assurance
Ensure all projects comply with company policies industry regulations and best practices.
Maintain high standards of project delivery with a focus on quality efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Oversee and ensure compliance with ITAR regulations and U.S. Department of State rules on the export of defense-related products and services.
Qualifications
Skills:
Education
Experience:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering IT or a related field.
20 years of experience in IT Service delivery across multiple technologies with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of managing complex high-value projects successfully.
Technical
Soft Skills:
Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile Waterfall PMP etc.).
Excellent leadership problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. MS Project JIRA Asana Trello).
Preferred Certifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional)
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile Certifications
