Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to be based in the Chelmsford Massachusetts or Providence Rhode Island office.
This position is expected to begin in Summer 2025.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the planning and execution of geotechnical field exploration and laboratory test programs.
- Evaluate subsurface conditions to determine geotechnical engineering properties of soil and bedrock.
- Perform geotechnical analyses for shallow foundations including bearing capacity sliding and settlement.
- Conduct seepage and stability analyses for dams levees tunnels and natural and man-made slopes.
- Design deep foundations for buildings bridges tanks and other major structures.
- Assist in the preparation of geotechnical data reports geotechnical design reports and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Must have a valid U.S. drivers license and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOMs Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
- Experience with Plaxis Slope/W and AutoCAD.
- Experience in the Water/Wastewater/Transportation Industry.
- Relevant intern and/or professional experience as a Geotechnical Engineer.
- Ability to work with a diverse team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and technical yet experienced enough to see the big picture.
- Experienced self-directed professional.
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines.
- Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
Additional Information :
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
- This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Chelmsford MA and/or Providence Rhode Island. The selected candidate must be available to work in Chelmsford MA and/or Providence Rhode Island on a scheduled basis.
