Level 2 Support Engineer WAF & Cybersecurity
Job Title: L2 Network Security Engineer (WAF Specialist)
Experience: 4 5 Years
Location: Bangalore
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled L2 Network Security Engineer with 4 5 years of hands-on experience in Web Application Firewalls (WAF) network security and public cloud environments such as AWS and Azure. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in managing WAF technologies such as Imperva as a must and AWS WAF Azure WAF as an optional along with solid experience in traditional firewalls public Cloud and network security appliances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure maintain and optimize Imperva Cloud WAF solution.
- Manage and troubleshoot network security devices including Palo Alto Fortinet Check Point or similar firewalls.
- Monitor security events analyze alerts and fine-tune security configurations for optimal protection.
- Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to integrate security into cloud and on-prem deployments.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and work on mitigation strategies.
- Maintain security documentation including architecture diagrams policy definitions and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 4 5 years of experience in network security engineering with 2 years working specifically with WAF technologies.
- Proficient with Imperva Cloud WAF.
- Experience with AWS WAF Azure WAF
- Scripting knowledge (Python Bash or PowerShell).
- Strong understanding of network protocols TCP/IP HTTP/S DNS SSL/TLS NAT and VPNs.
- Working knowledge of cloud security best practices (AWS and Azure).
- Awareness of OWASP Top 10 MITRE ATT&CK and application-layer security threats.
- Optional: Familiarity with security monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk ELK SIEM platforms).
- Optional: Hands-on experience with firewall platforms such as Palo Alto Networks Fortinet (FortiGate) Check Point Cisco ASA/Firepower.
Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have):
- AWS Certified Security Specialty
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
- Palo Alto Networks PCNSE
- Fortinet NSE Level 4 or above
- GIAC GWAPT / GCIH / GPEN
