Job Description
Title: Network Engineer
Location: Kansas City KS 66115
Duration: Long-Term
Client: General Motors
What youll be doing
Determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks.
Plan and implement network upgrades to meet organizational demands.
Adjust network sizes to accommodate volume or capacity changes.
Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to assess needs and propose solutions.
Coordinate network operations maintenance repairs and upgrades.
Design build and operate equipment configuration prototypes including network hardware software and server operations systems.
Develop and implement innovative solutions for network issues.
The right person has
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related technical field (required).
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in network/systems administration.
- Hands-on experience with computer hardware and data storage systems.
- In-depth knowledge of computer software including configuration management desktop communications and internet directory services.
- A Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification (a plus).
Skills youll bring to the table:
- Areas of Expertise: Local/Wide Area Networks Networking configuration and maintenance Plant Operations and Network Support (1-3 yrs. experience recommended).
- Technical Skills: Network (1-3 yrs. experience recommended).
Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in punching down and terminating a network cable.
- Capability to tone a cable out.
