Job Description
Position Summary
Performs operations to hand sand exposed wood frame parts frame sub-assemblies and/or materials. Work on a variety of parts as assigned performing sanding operations for correct smoothness to ensure completion of work is to quantity and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use moving motorized conveyor that brings the next frame or frame sub-assembly to the sander. Then maneuver around and step over the conveyor system in order to perform the job.
- Use sand paper pads to hand sand sofas loveseats chairs ottomans and beds to assure appropriate smoothness.
- Timely sand the frame by rubbing the pad against the exposed wood.
- Rotate the frame or pallet to make sure the entire frame is sanded.
- Remove defective frames from the finish conveyor with the help of a co-worker.
- May perform other duties/ special or non-routine assignments as instructed.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year relevant work experience
- Basic understanding of sanding methods in order to operate machinery (usually less than 90 days of training required).
