Position Summary
This is a professional position in which the graduate assistant will engage in work that will not only benefit the program and school but will also provide the individual with valuable work experience. Responsibilities of the graduate assistant include: Assisting faculty or adjuncts in the classroom as needed. Working with faculty on research projects. Working on external projects for community partners. Assisting with social media efforts for the School of Communication and the Arts. Planning and executing internal and external events. Assisting with various school and programmatic duties. The position responsibilities vary daily and depend on the needs of the faculty in the department. Career Readiness Learning Objectives : Career and Self-Development The student will learn to work independently on projects and will be expected to take initiative and ownership of projects and tasks. Teamwork The student will work closely with the faculty and staff in the School of Communication and the Arts to complete projects and plan and execute events. Communication The student assistant will create social media content to communicate with internal and external audiences. Professionalism The student will be responsible for maintaining a regular work schedule and representing the department as needed.

Required Qualifications
Graduate assistants must be students in the MA in Strategic Communication program. The GA must demonstrate strong communication skills including the ability to: Work in a classroom. Manage social media accounts. Work in a busy office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous research experience is beneficial.
