Quantity Surveyor Asset Intelligence

Location - Warrington

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team Asset Intelligence at Galliford Try.

Ideally you will based in or around the Warrington area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

You will report directly into the Managing Quantity Surveyor whilst working closely with the operational leads within the business. We are looking for somebody who is highly proactive dynamic and can drive the commercial and financial performance of the business unit forward whilst ensuring that robust risk management principles are instilled.

This role offers the opportunity to work on some of the UKs most prestigious frameworks with a focus on driving project success through effective commercial governance.

Key Responsibilities:

Identifying and managing project risks
Manage the change control process under NEC contracts including preparing and implementing EWs CE and CE Quotations in line with the contractual durations
Project Cost and P&L Forecasting ensuring strong skills in cost control accurate forecasting and managing Cost to Complete reports (CTC Management)
Produce commercial reports including CVRs forecasting and ability to advise on movement against forecast/ budget Turnover/ Contribution
Cash Flow Management
Manage applications for payment and ensuring positive project cash flow
Manage the supply chain payments
To act as a link between the Senior Leadership Team and our project delivery teams to communicate company strategy and vision
Coaching mentoring and development of any direct reports

About You:

  • Significant experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Proven track record in managing quantity surveying activities for multiple projects
  • Experience in managing teams of quantity surveyors providing guidance and mentorship
  • In-depth knowledge of the commercial aspects of construction projects including cost management contract administration and risk assessment
  • Familiarity with different construction sectors (e.g. building infrastructure housing) and project types
  • Experience in collaborating with clients subcontractors consultants and other stakeholders
  • Experience with Tier 1 contractors is preferred; Tier 2 experience will be considered if it demonstrates the required competencies
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Strong attention to detail & Problem Solving Skills
  • University degree in Quantity Surveying desirable but not essential
  • Understand the importance of change control on a project
  • Can demonstrate Contract knowledge
  • Demonstrable experience (minimum of 3 years) administering NEC3/4 contracts particularly ECC Main Option NEC suite experience may be considered
