HIGH SCHOOL LEARNING SUPPORT TEACHER WITH THE ABILITY TO TEACH GRADE 8-12 ENGLISH Daaxiigan S ada Ne K-12 School
An employment opportunity exists for a TEMPORARY Full-Time (1.0 FTE) High School Learning Support Teacher with the ability to teach Grade 8-12 English effective September 1 2025 to June 30 2026 at Daaxiigan Sada Ne K-12 School.
Requirements:
- A university teaching major or its equivalent directly related to the teaching position;
- Understanding and being committed to the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation commission including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children;
- Completion of Level B Assessment Training course or willingness to obtain;
- High level of skills related to successful classroom management and to the development and maintenance of a positive classroom climate;
- Experience with multi-grade classes an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to plan organize instruct and evaluate learning activities for students strengths and for their academic social emotional and behavioural needs;
- Assume responsibility for the development and execution of Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans;
- Knowledge of school-based teams;
- Demonstrated ability in creating safe inclusive learning environments where students are connected supported engaged and challenged;
- Proven interpersonal skills work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students teachers education assistants parents and administrators;
- Understanding of local resources and environment;
- Teacher Regulation Branch certification.
Remote and Rural Allowance: $3035 per annum
Travel Allowance: $1136 per annum
