TheAssistantDirector of Residential Servicesis responsible for the safe and efficient operation program quality and licensing compliance of multiple Hudson Milestones Residential programs.


We are looking for a strong leader to monitor multiple I/DD Group Home Properties within Hudson County. This person should be able to manage periods of high intensity work. It is a truly rewarding position working with and supporting clients as well as serving as a mentor and leader for employees while providing quality care to clients with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

This job title is an exempt position as specified in NJAC 12:56-7.1. This position customarily and regularly directs the work of employees; and whose suggestions and recommendations will be given particular weight.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • TheAssistantDirector of Residential Servicesis responsible for compliance oversight of multiple (3) Residential Group Homes staffed with Residential Coordinators Assistant Residential Coordinators and DSPs.
  • This person travels to program locations throughout the specified regions and to the administration building in Jersey City NJ.
  • This person will assist in all aspects of program operations from client intakes to staffing solutions.
  • This person must meet deadlines and manage outcomes to achieve agency financial and personnel requirements as directed.
  • TheAssistantDirector of Residential Serviceswill work to expand opportunities for client community living and services for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • This position will conduct and ensure appropriate staff training and provide mentorships.
  • Compliance with state and federal guidelines while monitoring client health safety and satisfaction is a crucial part of this role.
  • Responsible for programs 24/7 365 days of the year overseeing Residential Group Home Manager (Residential Coordinators) to ensure all DDD/DHS licensing and auditing compliance and standards are maintained.
  • Manages Oncall Phone regularly and on rotation
  • Managed Emergencies for the Program ensuring proper documentation and follow up
  • Maintains high level of care for clients served throughout the programs - must have knowledge of Komninos Law and Danielles Laws
  • Ensures clear communications with families external partners and assists with support coordinators and medical professionals
  • Responsible for staff development including supervision and training.
  • Monitors Time & Attendance for all staff and maintains adequate staffing schedules for program coverage.
  • Creates positive atmosphere and builds supportive culture.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance for the assigned programs participates in regular auditing
  • Fully involved in the implementation processes.
  • Clear communication skills to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assists with interviews and hiring process for team members as needed
  • Carries out measures and systems when staff are not meeting required responsibilities.
  • Problem solving with collaborative efforts from the Dept.
  • Ensures all maintenance aspects are addressed to provide a safe environment for clients and staff.
  • Flexibility a must.
  • May require additional hours for the needs of the Department.

CPR Certification a plus; Flexibility a must; starting at $65K salaried annually with an opportunity for a $5k stipend after the first year of employment. Benefits packages available after 60 days. 401K offered to qualified employees after 1 year. 8:30a-5p M-F to include hours in addition to 40hrs due to client and program needs. Exempt Position.
