Position Summary
The Department of Criminal Justice at Indiana University South Bend is currently seeking qualified applicants for a tenure track position beginning August 1 2026. A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or Criminology is required and ABD candidates will be considered as long as a PhD in Criminal Justice or Criminology is in hand by the time of appointment. A JD and/or EdD degree alone is not sufficient. The full-time load (100% FTE ) is 12 credit hours (typically four courses) each fall and spring semester with one course (25% FTE ) reassigned time for scholarly and creative activities following university & campus policies. Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to quality instruction maintain an active research agenda and be willing to engage in service activities. Successful applicants should have teaching experience in core courses such as Introduction to Criminal Justice and Criminological Theory.
