PURPOSE
Responsible for the direct accounting oversight of assigned resorts building and training a team of accountants and supporting operations in all things financial. Accounting oversight includes ensuring that all monthly financial reporting deadlines are met and that the financials are accurate facilitating 3rd party audits and resort budgets and communicating with the Board of Directors and Operational leadership on all HOA financial matters. All monthly financial packages must be delivered to the HOA Boards on or before the 25th of the following month. Ensures proper training of HOA Accountants guidance and analytical support to help with problem-solving. Knowledge of financial operations is vital to educating and adequately communicating with team members peers senior leaders operational partners and HOA board members. Oversee HOA Accounts Payable for the managed HOAs.
JOB EXPECTATIONS
- Responsible for all accounting and financial matters for our managed HOAs using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles including month-end close financial statement review and financial statement presentation to internal and external stakeholders (Board of Directors).
- Communication with the HOA Board of Directors.
- Prepare and work on Budgets with onsite management and the Director of Resort Operations.
- Review and present financial statements and budgets to the Board of Directors at Board Meetings. Present the financial status of resorts at members annual meetings which provides assurance to clients of our competency in managing their finances.
- Works with external CPAs on annual audits reviews and/or compilations of our managed HOA financial statements.
- Direct leadership of a team of Professional Accountants
- Assist with implementing and documenting special and new projects as needed. Ad-hoc strategic analysis.
- Oversight of HOA Accounts Payable for VRI resorts
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Financial planning and analysis experience required

QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience with Financial Accounting Standards.
- Five plus years of Direct Leadership of a team of five or more associates.
- Timeshare HOA or Hospitality experience preferred.
- Extensive experience in Balance Sheets and Income Statement Analysis and their interdependency
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of accounting spreadsheet and word-processing software
- Proficient use of Microsoft Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint etc.)
- Knowledge of Sage 500 desirable
