You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailUnder the direction of the Manager Revenue the Accounting Clerk (A/R) is responsible for all miscellaneous accounts receivable transactions for the Town including maintaining and balancing sub ledgers preparing account analysis release and reduction requests from developers maintaining developer and accounts receivable files including ensuring insurance certificates from developers are current; liaising with staff customers and developers.
Formal post-secondary education in accounting or business administration and a thorough working knowledge of accounting procedures (i.e. accounts receivable and collections processes general ledger accounts) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Aptitude for figures use of calculator proficient keyboarding skills high degree of accuracy and attention to detail are necessary.
Working knowledge of financial and accounting systems i.e. JD Edwards.
Knowledge of accounting principles ability to prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts.
Ability to work independently in a team setting be a self-starter and be able to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills and problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environment.
A team oriented person with demonstrated initiative.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).
Strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of management developers the public and staff.
