What you will do:
Construction Modelers play a critical role in delivering projects on time and within budget. At WSB our staff is expected to have excellent communication skills and possess high attention to detail. To be able to manage their time in a manner that respects their own skill level as well as project budget constraints. The knowledge base inside of WSB is extensive and staff are expected to utilize the trusted experts from within the company to ensure company standards and workflows are respected.
As a Construction Modeler
- You will be part of a team at WSB and will share your gathered knowledge and experience.
- You will draft construction As-builts basic plan sheets and other deliverables as needed.
- You will be expected to read and understand construction plans and technical documents and have a strong understanding of design software packages.
- Your experience level will determine the amount of independent judgment that will be granted the complexity of tasks performed and the direct supervision and mentoring you receive. These expectations and responsibilities will be detailed upon successful team placement.
- You will work independently to build accurate grading models based off on engineering plans ensuring design intent is held.
- Experience with 3D design preferred.
- Proficient in Trimble Business Center
- Specific tasks that you will perform include design calculations quantity and cost estimates and alignment and profile design.
What You Will Bring:
- The successful candidate must have an
- Ability to read and interpret design plans and make necessary assumptions maintaining design intent to create accurate grading and stakeout models.
- Ability to listen to and understand contractor needs and ability in software to complete the task.
- Associate degree in civil engineering drafting or a similar degree or a combination of a high school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of relevant construction experience.
- You may have the requirement to learn new software as dictated by project requirements and your team leaders.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic will allow you to excel in this position.
