Job Description
The Fleet Support Engineer promptly estimates prepares and processes all services purchase orders spare parts and stores requisitions for second hand vessels newbuilding vessels and retrofit projects and coordinates with internal stakeholders any new or additional requisitions as well as any revisions needed within the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
The position also includes responsibility for monitoring the supply levels of the spare parts pool and supports optimization opportunities related to critical and common spare parts and bulk orders.
The Fleet Support Engineer ensures that planned and unplanned works on board vessels are on track and performs scheduling or rescheduling of services work in the PMS system when required. Other key responsibilities include the monitoring of cost accounts the production of reports and the review of associated invoices.
Qualifications :
- Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering from a Technical Institution or University
- Previous experience of at least 2 years in a similar role is required
- Understanding of vessels systems and operations is considered an asset
- Analytical skills and IT literacy as well as knowledge of databases is required
- Familiarity with NS Enterprise system of ABS is considered an asset
- Attention to detail and a results-oriented approach is necessary
- Proficiency in English at an oral and written level is mandatory
