Job Description

We are looking for a skilled People & Capability Business Partner to join our team and provide specialist HR advice and support to our VIC State leadership team in a dynamic and child-safe compliant environment. In this critical role you will act as a trusted partner delivering insights to enhance people-related business performance and implementing initiatives that drive capability and retention.

About the Role
As a People & Capability Business Partner your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working very closely with the State General Manager as a deeply trusted and proactive business partner
  • Delivering professional HR advice aligned with JAG policies Awards
  • Coaching and supporting leaders in workplace investigations including child-safe compliance matters
  • Designing and implementing retention initiatives to address sector-specific turnover challenges
  • Supporting leadership capability development through coaching and leveraging centralized L&D programs
  • Providing actionable insights into people-related metrics like turnover absenteeism and workplace incidents
  • Collaborating on national P&C projects and contributing to policy development
  • Managing workplace injuries effectively in partnership with external specialists to minimize lost time
  • Providing change management support and coordinating specialist P&C services including Talent Acquisition and Payroll

Qualifications :

We can support you in understanding our organisation but heres what youll need to succeed in this role:

  • A degree in HR Business Management or a related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian employment laws Fair Work standards and HR best practices
  • Experience managing complex employee relations issues and conducting workplace investigations in a regulated environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build networks and instill trust across teams
  • Change management training (e.g. Prosci) is highly desirable
  • Membership of AHRI at a CPHR level (preferred)
