Job Description
Regina Catholic Education Center an exceptional pre-K to 12th grade school in Iowa City seeks aPart-Time School Nurse.
This is a job share opportunity with our current school nurse to provide a school nurse during all school hours.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the operation of the school health center by treating illnesses and injuries training non-licensed staff in case of emergencies monitoring health inventory and immunization records.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate in a shared role with the lead school nurse.
- Assess and identify health-related conditions for students and staff maintain student and staff health records and accident reports and ensure immunizations are current.
- Develop priorities in managing student/staff health and report any unusual behavioral finding or unsafe student activity to appropriate resources for follow-up.
- Treat illnesses and injuries of students/staff to include determining method of treatment per guidelines maintaining confidentiality documenting and notifying parents guardians and/or Emergency Medical Services providers as necessary.
- Administer medications according to physician and parent instructions.
- Maintain Health Office in a clean orderly and safe condition; dispose of biomedical waste and hazards according to established procedures; and order supplies.
- Lead and train Emergency Response Team for school emergencies
- Provide health counseling and guidance to students and their families and participate in faculty meetings and student services support groups as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Master of Science in Nursing or BS or BA degree with relevant nursing experience
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Iowa Board of Nursing.
- Previous pediatric school health or community health nursing experience preferred.
