As a Program Supervisor you will lead critical disease prevention and public health initiatives ensuring the effective management and execution of key programs. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering operational excellence guiding a dedicated team and driving impactful strategies that safeguard communities and enhance health outcomes.
In addition you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the STI Program including the planning development and monitoring of procedures and standards. You will provide strategic direction to staff supervise program activities and ensure the successful implementation of mandated services to promote public health and disease control.

We Require
- Three years of experience in a healthcare epidemiology or other disease control setting which includes two years of experience supervising field and office staff
- Bachelor of Science degree in a business or healthcare-related field
- An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
We Also Value
- Masters degree in Public Health with a focus on epidemiology or other disease control-related areas
- Three years of public health program management experience of which two years are related to the prevention diagnosis and treatment of STIs
Job Contributions
- Provides overall program supervision of the field epidemiology and clinic staff. Recruits retains and maintains high-quality staff. Develops and assists supervisors in the development of individual performance plans goals and evaluations; performs evaluations of subordinate supervisors; provides guidance to the supervisors to develop staffing schedules and work assignments; monitors and evaluates productivity to ensure that resources are used efficiently and cost-effectively
- Develops performance and outcome objectives for the program staff to ensure high-quality health care and exceptional customer service. Measures progress toward achieving objectives. Evaluates internal processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services
- Develops and conducts training for staff and monitors staff competency developing corrective action plans as necessary
- Reviews develops maintains and implements programmatic protocols. Ensures reports as required by programmatic grants are completed accurately and timely manner
- Develops and monitors program budgets and expenditures. Coordinates implements and monitors quality control and quality assurance activities and initiates necessary changes to improve quality and cost effectiveness
Working Conditions
- Within one month of hire all employees will be required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles mumps rubella) Tdap (whooping
cough and diphtheria) Varicella (chickenpox) and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test - Must be able to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency
