Your Role:
As the Assistant Production Manager youll work closely with the Production Manager to ensure smooth daily operations maintain high standards and support the team. Youll lead by example ensure quality and consistency and help coordinate multiple departments including baking assembling packaging shipping and receiving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with overseeing all aspects of bakery production operations
- Step in for the Production Manager as needed
- Ensure high-quality food preparation and adherence to food safety standards
- Manage and motivate small production teams throughout the day
- Monitor inventory place orders and handle receiving/shipping
- Ensure production goals and delivery schedules are met
- Be hands-on and ready to support any department as needed
- Maintain compliance with company policies and all food safety regulations (local state federal)
Qualifications:
- 3 years of commercial baking experience (breads pastries or similar)
- 2 years of experience in a food industry management role
- Food Management Certification & working knowledge of HACCP principles
- Familiarity with GMP SQF or other food safety/quality programs
- Experience with food traceability programs (preferred)
- Strong organizational time management and communication skills
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel Outlook and Word
- A team player who is reliable prompt and goal-oriented
