About us
Placemaking NSW is responsible for managing and caring for some of Sydneys most iconic harbourside venues and locations including The Rocks Barangaroo Darling Harbour and White Bay Power Station. We also lead the planning and delivery of the Bays West Urban Renewal Precinct a state significant project that will bring new homes jobs and public spaces to 77 hectares of government-owned land just 2 kilometres from Sydneys CBD.
The role
With around 150 heritage-listed buildings across some of Sydneys most iconic precincts our small but dedicated Heritage team plays a big role. As Heritage Officer youll help make sure these unique places are properly cared for by providing conservation advice undertaking historic research and coordinating the delivery of our 10-year Conservation Management Plan update program. Youll work alongside our Design and Place team to help shape meaningful high-quality outcomes that respect the past and meet the needs of our communities today.
Youll be providing day-to-day advice on conservation maintenance planning and heritage interpretation all while balancing competing deadlines and supporting big-picture programs. Its a role that calls for a deep appreciation of heritage and an ability to advocate for best-practice outcomes across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
